15 Broke Celebrities Now Working Normal Jobs
The lure of the limelight might seem irresistible to most of us. After all, there’s fame, fortune and everything that goes with being a celebrity. However, many celebrities decided to leave everything behind to go back to a normal, everyday life.
These celebrities said goodbye to limelight and hello to a normal job.
GEORGE FOREMAN: THEN
Remember “Big George,” the professional boxer? Foreman is a two-time world heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist! He’s not throwing punches anymore though. His boxing career was sealed after he lost a match to the boxing icon Muhammad Ali in the famous “Rumble in Jungle” match although it wasn’t his final match. He had a few comebacks but he never rose to the former fame. Since then, Mr. Foreman has changed his career altogether.
GEORGE FOREMAN: NOW
After his boxing days, this guy became the spokesperson for the George Foreman Grill, helping to sell over 100 million grills around the world!
Now a proclaimed businessman and an entrepreneur, Foreman has had several breakthroughs onto the public scene – he wrote several books, launched his own clothing line, and he even had his own reality show called “Family Foreman ” in 2008 but this venture was short-lived. If he had known he’d prove to be such a successful entrepreneur, he might never take up boxing but apparently, it was during a blackout after he was knocked down at a match that he had an epiphany about grilled meat. It seems that everything happens for a reason.
SUSAN BOYLE: THEN
Everyone’s jaws dropped when they heard Susan Boyle’s sensational voice on Britain’s Got Talent. Though she only came in second place, she still scored a record deal and millions of hearts! Her career took off at a break-neck speed and the dollar soon started pouring in. Susan couldn’t believe her luck, especially if we look at how unfairly she was treated before becoming famous. She was known as “Simple Susie” and often teased for not excelling in anything. When she broke on through to the public scene, the audience stood in amazement and she suddenly became everyone’s favorite star.
But her singing career didn’t last long for a reason she probably regrets. Let’s see what that might be…
SUSAN BOYLE: NOW
After Boyle started hitting the bottle and landed herself in rehab for excessive drinking, her record deal was pulled, essentially ending her career as a singer. So, off to managing a local Betting Store she went!
Still, some sources claim that Susan Boyle has a severe health condition known as Asperger syndrome, which is the reason why she was told she had a “damaged brain” in childhood and early adulthood. Asperger syndrome is a condition that affects one’s ability to speak, communicate, and socialize. It is also considered to be a condition closely related to autism. Her life hasn’t been easy and she even suffered terrible losses when her closest family members died within only a few years.
Maybe it’s high time we let her live her life in peace.
